June 5, 2020- Chicago, Illinois, United States: Continuing their protest against police brutality and the killing of George Floys, Chicagoans participated in a peaceful march. George Floyd was killed by the Minneapolis Police Department while handcuffed and in their custody. Video shows Officer Derek Chauvin of the Minneapolis PD kneeling on George Floyd’s neck while the latter was in handcuff and laying on the ground saying: “I can’t breath.” After nation wide outrage, Chauvin was was initially charged with third-degree murder (which was later upgraded to second degree) and second-degree manslaughter and was placed under arrest.
