Nima Taradji Photography

I am an Iranian-American editorial and documentary photographer based in Chicago, Illinois-USA. I quit my job as an attorney a few years ago when I decided to return to photography. I wanted to be a photographer since I was ten years old when I walked around with a plastic camera my dad gave me.

As a documentary photographer my attention is drawn to cultural, social and political aspects of our society and I photograph people and stories I find important and to which I can commit. I see my camera, as a tool that gives me access to places and allows me to explore the world and issues that would have otherwise remained a mystery. Photography is and has been a perpetual learning experience.

My photos have appeared in:

Der Spiegel
L'Express Magazine
The Wall Street Journal
The Washington Post
The New York Times - Lens
Public Radio International - Global Nation
CBS Chicago
ABC News
Photo District News
Interview Magazine
